HOW TO CARE FOR WATERPROOFING AT HOME?

Follow our easy guide and our best tips for successful maintenance!

WITH OUR DETERGENT FOR OUTERWEAR

To clean your raincoat without altering its protective membrane, use a specially formulated detergent, such as diluting detergent Flotte. Designed for technical textiles, it cleans gently while preserving waterproof properties. If the room is not to be cleaned entirely and only for minor tasks, use water with a little dishwashing liquid for greasy stains.

Washing Tips:
- Before putting it in the machine, close all the zips so that the turns of the drum do not damage the interior membrane.
- Preferably machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle.
- Do not use fabric softener, which could clog the breathable fibers and damage the waterproof membrane.
- Avoid excessively intense spinning which could weaken the fabric.

THE RIGHT GESTURES FOR EVERY ROOM

Is it machine-washable?

Yes, but before even submitting your clothing Flotte in the washing machine, we advise you to close all the zips on your clothing. If it is a raincoat Amelot for example, don’t forget to close the central zip, as well as all the pockets.

You can then wash your jacket waterproof by machine or by hand, cold and up to 30°C, adding a very small quantity of liquid laundry detergent. Opt for one very moderate spin to avoid creasing the garment unnecessarily. If your washing machine has a delicate program, don’t hesitate to use it!

We advise you to wash your clothes Flotte alone, by hand or by machine.

What type of detergent should I use to wash my raincoat?

We strongly advise against using washing powders in direct contact with the garment. And don't use products that may contain fabric softeners or stain removers. Avoid using chlorine on your garment. All these elements will greatly reduce the effectiveness of your jacket's waterproof film.

Can I put my raincoat in the dryer?

Once the clothing machine-washed, we recommend that you lay flat or on a hangerand wait quietly for it to dry out on its own.

Use of the tumble dryer is strongly recommended. not recommended to preserve the waterproof fabric.

Can I iron my raincoat?

After washing your piece Flotte, you can iron it, but only with steam! It is normal for the part to come out of the machine a little wrinkled, a little steam ironing using a steamer/ steamer and that’s it! Your room Flotte is like new!

How do I remove a stain from my raincoat?

Use a damp cloth or sponge with warm water and mild soap. Avoid aggressive products.

THE BRAND

What is the origin of the word Flotte and the logo?

Like many of you, when it rains, we use this typically French expression: “il flotte ».

At Flotte, we were keen to highlight this word from French slang and make it known internationally!

Why this logo?

  ◦       The drop of water represents the “o” of Flotte and our reason for being, the rain.
◦       The small slit at the circle echoes our disruptive side, treating the rain differently through color and positive attitude. It also refers to the power of water, which changes shapes.
  ◦       Finally, the colors recall those of France, our roots and our source of inspiration! All our pieces are designed in Paris.

Where are your clothes made?

Our garments are researched and designed in Paris and manufactured in Asia in a workshop specializing in recycled outerwear. The manufacture of our garments requires special technical skills and know-how that cannot be found elsewhere. That's why we work with partners in China. Today, it's in this part of the world that we find the most important production resources, which meet our specifications.

Our raw materials and production system enable us to guarantee quality without multiplying the transportation of raw materials. What's more, our collections are produced in limited quantities, avoiding textile overproduction.

Our partners in China are BSCI-certified, and the wages of the craftsmen we work with are above average. One of our teams visits the workshops several times a year to monitor production and carry out a social audit of the production chain.

In fact, our products are sold internationally in over 250 sales outlets (in Europe, Australia, Canada, Japan, etc.) and all production is carried out in a single location. The raw materials and the production system enable us to guarantee quality without multiplying product transport.

Do you have points of sale?

You can find us in our Store flagship in Paris or in numerous reseller boutiques in France. To find out which Store is closest to you, take a look at our card.

Do you have a sale?

At Flotte, we do not have sales for the following reasons:

1/ Our collections are timeless.

2/ We are committed against overproduction, which is why we produce in limited quantities. The majority of our production is based on pre-orders. So we don’t really have “unsold stock.” On the contrary, when a size or color is available, you need to act fast!

3/ This policy of avoiding overproduction and focusing on timeless pieces allows us to guarantee fair prices all year round, without constant discounts.
